Car documents' translation

Vehicles purchased abroad must usually have their documents translated before they can be registered in Romania.

In most cases, the police authorities require a sworn translation of the purchase invoice (or all purchase invoices, if there have been several previous buyers or sellers), in order to establish the vehicle’s ownership history and traceability. In Galați, the sworn translation of the vehicle title document must include the translator’s registration number. ANAF (Romanian Tax Administration) may also require a sworn translation of the foreign registration certificate.
